REPLACE

Are you tired of the matte, outdated look of your laminate surface? Is your granite countertop damaged, chipped, or worn? Is the grout in your countertop dirty and dull? If you’ve answered yes to any of these questions, it may be time to fully replace your countertop. Our impressive showroom consists of a wide array our product and design options. If you don’t know exactly what you’re looking for, no worries. Our friendly and experienced team will more than happily assist you with both design and color selection. We have several options available, including quartz and natural stone, and there are pros and cons to each material. Quartz is unique in that it is non-porous, so it doesn’t absorb liquids and stain as easily. This surface is also maintenance free! The only drawback is quartz is not as resistant to high heat as granite. Natural stones include granite, onyx, marble, and travertine. Natural stone is very durable - if you choose to cut on your surface, it will not take damage. Although most natural stones do not need to be sealed, it does help the stones’ resistance to spills and stains.

RESEAL

Experts suggest sealing your countertops to not only improve the durability of your surfaces but also to extend their lifetimes. The rule of thumb is to reseal about once a year, but some lighter colors of natural stone may require more frequent care. Metro Marble has several very light samples of onyx and travertine that might need to be resealed more than once a year. We have hundreds of colors available though so you will be sure to find the perfect stone for you. An easy way to check if your countertops need to be resealed is to do a water test. Pour a small amount of water onto your surface and walk away for a few minutes. If when you come back the water has remained beaded on top of the surface, you are good to go. If the water has absorbed into your surface, it may be time to consider resealing your countertops to prevent any potential staining. Before resealing your countertops, be sure to clear them off completely. Then, use warm water and a mild dish soap to wipe down your surfaces. Once your countertops have been resealed, they should be ready to go back to normal use after 24 hours.

REJOICE

Now you can rejoice because your countertops are once again in pristine condition! If you’re considering selling your house, replacing your countertop with granite or quartz can raise the value of your home. Resealing is also a task that your future buyer will greatly appreciate. Upgrading your current countertops and other surfaces can immediately transform your entire space. Now that you’ve determined whether you should replace or reseal your countertops, give your countertop company in Lake Ozark, MO a call. We can help to answer any more questions you may have.
